Welcome to River Towns New York
From Yonkers to Irvington, the Southern Westchester River Towns are a diverse group. Yonkers has the largest population in the county with 190,000 residents - really a large city. Hastings-on-Hudson with 8,000 residents is a small community overlooking the Hudson. Dobs Ferry with 10,000, Ardsley with 4,000. Irvington has a population of 6,000 and is the home of Washington Irving, the Lyndhurst Museum and Sunnyside. Most of the towns are part of the Town of Greenburgh, and are served by the Greenburgh Library and the Greenburgh Recreation department.
