USE OF PERSONAL DATA

 

We request personal information to the extent necessary to provide users with the best level of service possible.  Our site's registration form requires users to give KidsEvents.com contact information (i.e., name and email address) and provides the option of giving demographic information (i.e., age and interests of children).  We use customer contact information from the registration form to send emails that users choose to receive.  Users may "opt-out" of receiving future emails at any time. We use personal data to tailor the experience at our site, showing events and classes that fit the personal data provided, and displaying the content according to their stored preferences.  Users' email addresses and passwords are collected to identify the user when he or she returns to the site.  None of this information is shared with 3rd parties unless required by law.  We will never sell or rent individual user information to 3rd parties.

 

KidsEvents.com discloses aggregated user statistics (for example, 75% of our users are female) in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes. Kidsevents.com may also disclose account information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating KidsEvents.com's Usage Policy or may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) KidsEvents.com's rights or property, other KidsEvents.com users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities.

 

Order

We request information from the user on our order form.  A user must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date).  This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer’s orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.

 

Log Files

Like most standard Web site servers, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

We also use cookies to assist KidsEvents.com in tracking visits to and pages seen at our web site.  We use this research to understand how our users navigate and use our website so that we can improve our website. Special Offers and Updates

We occasionally send registered users emails on products, services, special deals, and they also receive our weekly email newsletter. Newsletter

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name, town, state and email address.  Out of respect for our users privacy we provide a way to opt-out of these communications.  Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.

 

Service Announcements

On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement.  For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email.  Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account.  However, these communications are not promotional in nature. 

 

Customer Service

We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.

 

THIRD PARTY INTERMEDIARIES

We use an outside credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. To the best of KidsEvents’ knowledge, this company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

 

BUSINESS TRANSITIONS

In the event KidsEvents goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.  Users will be notified via email and by a prominent notice on our Web site for 30 days prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information.  If as a result of the business transition, the users’ personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection they will be given choice consistent with our notification of changes section.

 

SECURITY

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Security measures have been implemented that reflect the sensitivity of the information stored. Industry standard login and password security has been implemented. All information deemed "transaction sensitive" such as credit card numbers, account numbers, etc. is encrypted using SSL security.

 

CHOICE/OPT-OUT

Our site provides users the opportunity to choose or "opt-in" to receiving email reminders about selected events, classes or new services and products at KidsEvents.com.  We will never send emails to a user unless he or she has requested to receive emails.  Each opt-in email will contain instructions for opting out of our email reminder system.

 

Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at info@kidsevents.com, or the user may contact us at address or phone number listed below.
